The stone of Agate bears this name in reference to the Sicilian river Achates, its surroundings abound with this precious mineral. Mined in Australia, China and the United States, this stone has been used for millennia for its symbol of longevity and growth.


Grey Agate is mainly composed of chalcedony and quartz. It is therefore a mineral that consists mainly of silica. There are many varieties of this stone, involving physical and aesthetic differences. Its hardness varies between 6.5 and 7 Mohs.


The virtues of this stone would be numerous, both for the body and for the spirit.  It would have the reputation of alleviating headaches, especially those in the ocular region. This stone could relieve severe pain such as cuts or bites and it also has revitalizing properties for the whole body.
