Origin
Green Aventurine comes from the Italian "aventura", which means adventure. It pays homage to a glass, the latter having been accidentally created when a glass factory in Venice caught fire, one of the craftsmen spilled copper filings which gave this scintillating effect. The island of Murano still refers to this story that is dear to him.
This stone is mined in Brazil, Chile and India.
Composition
Green Aventurine is part of the oxides, composed mostly of fuchsite, it also contains mica and hematite. On the Mohs scale, its hardness is 7 and its density is 2.65.
