Red Jasper owes its name to the Greek word "by jasper" which means speckled stone. This stone has brought luck, protection and wealth for millennia. Extracted in India, the Urals or Brazil, this stone steeped in history has been used for several millennia. Since the Paleolithic, various civilizations have used it in ornament or sculpture for its bright colors and its symbolism of prosperity.
Composition
Red Jasper is a member of the microcrystalline quartz family and is composed mostly of silica, it can also be of volcanic origin. On the Mohs scale, its hardness is between 6.5 and 7 and its density is 2.75. Its color can vary from brick red to moderate red.
