Origin

Lapis Lazuli are two Latin words that mean azure stone. This stone, used since 7000 BC. J-C, was found in the form of beads, daggers and amulets. In the Mesopotamian period, Lapis Lazuli was more socket than gold itself.If we refer to the time, this stone would be considered our current diamond.

Composition

The Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock, which means that it has undergone a transformation in the solid state, by a rise in temperature or pressure. Its composition varies according to its origin and the conditions in which it evolved. It is mainly composed of lazurite, an element that brings this deep blue. The veins of pyrite give it this golden aspect, sometimes confused with gold dust. Its hardness is 5.5 on the scale of Mohsand hisspecific gravity is 2.8.
