Origin

This stone, used since 7000 BC. J-C, was found in Mesopotamia. These peoples used rose quartz to pray and advocate Astarte, the goddess of love, fertility and war. According to Greek mythology, Ares, Aphrodite's official lover wanted revenge on Adonis. He commissioned a boar which caused his death. In wanting to help him, Aphrodite injured herself in a thorny bush, while crystallizing, the blood of the two lovers gave birth to pink quartz.

Composition

Rose Quartz is a stone belonging to the group of silicates. Its composition varies according to its origin and the conditions in which it evolved. It consists mainly of silicon dioxide. Its hardness is 7 on the Mohs scale and a density of 2.6.
